Roll up your sleeves and #ServeCarolina on Oct. 10 for this year’s Tar Heel Service Day. The Carolina community will unite across the globe to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people. The New York Carolina Club will be volunteering with “City Meals on Wheels” in the Upper East Side. Comfortable shoes are required.
Directions: Thank you for expressing an interest in participating in the community service project of the New York Carolina Club (NYCC) in celebration of University Day. This year, the NYCC will be volunteering with Citymeals. We will be delivering meals to home-bound elderly on the Upper East Side. We will meet at the Stanley Isaacs Senior Center at 415 E 93rd St. (on the corner of 1st Ave.) at 9:30am, on Saturday, October 10. There will be a brief orientation, and then we will deliver meals in groups by foot, which we will complete at 1:00pm. You will need to wear weather appropriate clothes and comfortable shoes. If you would like to register, please reply to andy.siegel@alumni.unc.edu. The event will occur rain or shine. It is important that if you do register to participate, that you do show up, regardless of the weather. Citymeals is allocating their volunteer positions based on our commitment. If we are underserved, it will impact the ability to deliver meals to the community on that day.
