Please join the New York Carolina Club as it hosts a free virtual event with veteran sportswriter and author Art Chansky ‘70.
The renowned author has written numerous books about UNC basketball and will be discussing his most recent work, Game Changers: Dean Smith, Charlie Scott and the Era That Transformed a Southern College Town. This acclaimed book describes how Smith and Scott helped transform a university, a community, and the racial landscape of sports in the South.
Hosting the discussion will be UNC History Associate Professor Matthew Andrews. Professor Andrews is a historian with an interest in the links between sports and American history and culture. The Daily Tar Heel has designated him “Best Professor” three times and have cited several of his courses as “Best UNC Class” over the years.
