20th Annual Arts Brunch

NYC Celebration of the Arts at Carolina

Sunday, May 21, 2017 – Noon – 2 p.m.
The University Club, One West 54th Street (First Floor College Hall)
followed by optional After Party at Papillon Bar and Bistro2 East 54th Street

New York Carolina Club, The UNC General Alumni Association, UNC Department of Dramatic Art, UNC Department of Music and Carolina Performing Arts cordially invite you to attend the 20th Annual Brunch to Celebrate the Arts at Carolina and to honor actor-singer-dancer and Tony Award nominee Max von Essen ’96 as the 19th Recipient of the John L. Haber ’70 (“Habey”) Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts.

Our own renowned author Mary Pope Osborne ’71, the 2nd Recipient of the “Habey,” will be the guest emcee. Her Magic Tree House children’s book series is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year (sales exceed 134 million copies worldwide — surpassed only by the Harry Potter series). Mary may be one of the most “unfamous” famous people in the world. You’ll find her in hundreds of thousands of homes around the world and in practically every elementary school in the U.S., and many abroad.  Although Oklahoma born, Mary is a very proud “Tar Heel bred!”
