The New York Carolina Club recently had the privilege to host a conversation with acclaimed author Holly George-Warren ’78 to discuss her celebrated book about the life of Janis Joplin entitled “Janis: Her Life and Music.”

A two-time Grammy nominee, she is an award-winning author of sixteen books. “Janis: Her Life and Music” was named best nonfiction book of 2019 by the prestigious Texas Institute of Letters.

She was joined by renowned author Parke Puterbaugh ’76. A former senior editor at Rolling Stone, he has written or co-written numerous books and magazine articles on music, travel, the environment, and other subjects.
