Post-Event Recap: Virtual Chat with Author Art Chansky

The New York Carolina Club recently had the privilege to host a conversation with veteran sportswriter and author Art Chansky ‘70.

The renowned author has written numerous books about UNC basketball, and at the event discussed his most recent work, Game Changers: Dean Smith, Charlie Scott and the Era That Transformed a Southern College Town, which describes how Smith and Scott helped transform a university, a community, and the racial landscape of sports in the South.

He was joined by UNC History Associate Professor Matthew Andrews, a historian with an interest in the links between sports, American history, and culture who was named “Best Professor” three times by the Daily Tar Heel.
