Black made his Broadway debut in 2012 with his solo show Running on Empty (for which we also had a Carolina Night).   A Grammy winner for his albums The Carnegie Hall Performance and Stark Raving Black, he has been seen on The Daily Show and in various standup specials. He has performed at venues ranging from Carnegie Hall in New York to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. As a playwright, Black is the author of The Deal and One Slight Hitch. He voiced the role of Anger in the recent film Inside Out.

On his website, Black posted a statement saying, “I am going back to Broadway and I couldn’t be happier.  Nothing pleases me more than being able to walk to work, and I’ll be just a few blocks from the magnificent Marquis Theatre where I’ll be performing.  As a playwright I always wanted to see my plays on Broadway; well, that didn’t work out, but I am honored to be doing my stand-up there.”

“I played Broadway just before the last election. Well this past election year was as psychotic as anyone could imagine. I can’t wait to go through it all with you and, because the shows are on Mondays rather than a straight run, I’ll be able to keep the show up to date. I can’t wait to get mad about the madness. As someone once said, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet!”
